EFAFLEX Safety Day raises awareness of door safety among customers
For the first time, the high-speed door manufacturer EFAFLEX has held a dedicated Safety Day. The aim was to raise customers’ awareness of safety through a range of measures. Practical examples illustrated the various safety requirements.
The doors move at lightning speed from bottom to top and back again – with people and machines operating in between. This is everyday life in many halls and industries, placing high demands on workplace safety.
The first Safety Day held by EFAFLEX Tor- und Sicherheitssysteme GmbH & Co. KG on 3 April in Bruckberg helped to strengthen awareness of door system safety among customers. The company name says it all: speed and safety are the company’s core competencies.
The workshop, held at the premises of the global market leader in industrial high-speed doors, provided insights into occupational safety and operator responsibilities.
In the practical section, participants analysed the causes of accidents involving door systems and conducted a measurement of the operating forces of a door.
“Providing support to improve safety at the door“
“With this training, we wanted to raise our customers’ awareness of safety while also offering concrete support to help improve door safety,” explains Klaus Manlig, Head of the EFAFLEX Sales Academy.
In particular, the roughly 50 participants learned valuable information about operator obligations, which can help to avoid hazards in critical situations. Handling high-speed doors requires a heightened sense of safety, which was communicated during the workshop by multiple speakers.
For occupational safety professionals, the EFAFLEX Safety Day officially counts as a recognised continuing education event, which they are required to attend annually.
“The Safety Day was also a valuable exchange for us, showing that the same challenges appear again and again in everyday working life – regardless of the industry,” concludes Klaus Manlig.
The first EFAFLEX Safety Day was a complete success and will certainly be repeated – because workplace safety saves lives.
